ARTWORK: Backward Singing Performance

Eau Pernice’s practice unfolds in between the abstract and the literal, the immaterial and the material. In this space, she playfully explores and deconstructs systems and structures that we commonly take for granted – technological, linguistic, religious, societal – in order to forge new connections and meanings. For Pernice, language is not only a means of communication, but also a physical material that can be manipulated such that meaning is transposed and transformed. Pernice’s work disrupts linear chronologies and brings unexpected coincidences to light.
